Scientists from Sweden as well as from other countries are welcome to Askö Laboratory to do research in the Baltic Proper. All PhD students are welcome to apply for grants to cover the costs at the field station.
All Swedish universities and college universities are also welcome to use the Askö Laboratory for marine courses. There are also ample opportunities for scientists in the SMFnet to use the station for marine meetings and seminars.

How to make a reservation
If you want to come to Askö Laboratory, please use our on-line application form.
Here is a link to the page "Apply online"
Send your application as soon as possible. For planned field studies during the summer (May - September) we need the application no later than March 31.
It is our aim that all will be granted their requests of accomodation at Askö, but especially during the summer season, there is a peak in activity and the requested use from university courses and research teams sometimes exceeds the capacity of the facilities.
SMF costs
In total, SMF spends 2.6 MSEK (rental costs not included) in the effort to provide a well-equipped marine field station for research, education, environmental monitoring and meetings.
